Veneer is a very thin layer of finely grained wood, glued to a base material. Because only a small portion of wood is needed to create a veneer, exotic and unusual species like Zebrawood, Curly Tiger Maple, Bamboo, and Anegre are far more accessible and affordable. These species would otherwise be cost prohibitive to procure, if available at all, as a solid wood door. Veneers can be stained and finished just like solid woods.
